INTRODUCING FREDRIKSTAD LIVING LAB
True Empowerment
Our goal is to create a place where people can combine technology, business and tourism to create new experiences for tourists, create value for businesses, and learn along the way.
Located in the heart of Gamlebyen, the Fredrikstad Living Lab aims to be a transition point from the past to the future, facilitating the implementation of the generation of tourism ideas.
OUR SUPPORTERS
How we got here
The lab has been a joint effort between industry, the tertiary sector and the local government. The project leader is Visit Fredrikstad and Hvaler, a tourism organisation run for the benefit of its members.
The University College of Østfold has contributed in the form of competence, courses for members, and mentoring. The building owner, and co-contributor has been Forsvarsbygg, which is a government based department that manges the old town where the Lab is located. Fredrikstad Kommune has contributed to the funding for the Lab, and has been crucial in supporting the launch of this initatiative.
WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?
Creating innovation in tourism and experience design
We want to encourage grass roots innovation through bringing people together in a collaborative space. The Lab offers offices and a community where people can work on developing the next generation of tourism companies and experience design.
